Yantai Wanhua Polyurethanes Chooses NORAM Technology

NORAM’s proprietary technology for the production of mononitrobenzene (MNB) has been selected by Yantai Wanhua Polyurethanes for 3 separate sites in China. The combined capacity of these new plants will be well over 1 million metric tonnes per year. The plant designs will incorporate innovative product purification steps which are unique to the Chinese market.

NORAM’s engineering design is underway and supply of the key proprietary hardware for the first plant is scheduled for completion within 2011. The first plant is expected to start up in 2012 with the others to follow immediately afterwards. The third of the Wanhau projects will mark NORAM’s eighth MNB plant in China.

The selection of NORAM by China’s number one MDI producer affirms NORAM’s clear technology leadership in the rapidly growing Chinese market. This milestone follows more than two decades of successfully supplying similar facilities to customers in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia.
