UP AND RUNNING AT TKG HUCHEMS NO. 2

NORAM is pleased to announce the successful start-up of a new world-scale mononitrobenzene (MNB) plant in Yeosu, South Korea for our long-time customer, TKG HUCHEMS.
It is the second such plant delivered to TKG HUCHEMS by NORAM, reinforcing the NORAM adiabatic nitrobenzene technology as the industry leader. The new plant started up in March of 2024 and passed its performance test only days after the initial start-up.
The No. 2 plant at TKG HUCHEMS is the most advanced MNB plant in the world. It incorporates nearly the complete suite of MNB production, purification, effluent, and vent treatment technologies on offer from NORAM. This solidifies TKG HUCHEMS as the low-cost producer of MNB in South Korea and with the exceptional product quality achieved in the No. 1 and 2 MNB plants, positions TKG HUCHEMS as the go-to merchant supplier of reliable and pure MNB around the world.
The project is a testament to what can be achieved when world-class technology from NORAM and world-class operational know-how from a company like TKG HUCHEMS are joined together.
The plant marks NORAM’s 23rd reference for MNB production, and 10th plant in the past ten years, an unprecedented run of success for the technology and our customers. Plants 24 and 25 are under construction and expected to start up in the next two years
