Second Acid Plant Upgrade in Morocco
August 29, 2011
NORAM is rapidly building a track-record in Morocco with the completion of another successful acid plant upgrade project for OCP (Office Cherifien des Phosphates), this time at OCP’s Safi (MP II) phosphate fertilizer complex in Morocco.
Full capacity acid production at the 1,750 MTPD facility resumed at the end of July, following a 45 day shutdown, during which the existing brick-lined acid towers and pump-tank were demolished. Two new metal alloy towers and pump tank, complete with an external acid dilution system, new ducting and acid piping tie-in spools were supplied as part of the upgrade.
In addition to project management, NORAM’s scope of supply included design, fabrication, supply, and installation advisory services.
