HuChems Doubling MNB Capacity

NORAM has signed a contract with HuChems Fine Chemical Corporation of Korea to double the mononitrobenzene (MNB) production capacity at the HuChems Yeosu, Korea site. NORAM supplied the original MNB plant for the site 4 years ago.

NORAM’s technology package under the new contract, including design, proprietary equipment, and commissioning services will take the production level at the site to 300,000 metric tonnes of MNB per year. The supply of NORAM’s engineering and key proprietary hardware is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2012 with start up later in the year.

The contract marks another repeat customer for NORAM and follows more than two decades of successfully supplying similar facilities to customers in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia.
