Fourth MNB Plant for China

NORAM has been selected to supply its patented and proprietary technology for the production of mononitrobenzene (MNB) to the Tianji Coal Chemical Industry Group Company Ltd. in LuCheng, Shanxi province, PRC. The proposed plant will have an annual capacity of 180,000 metric tonnes per year and will be built to operate in parallel to an existing NORAM MNB facility supplied to the same site in 2006.

Design work is well underway on the new Tianji project and the supply of NORAM’s engineering and key proprietary hardware is scheduled for completion within 2011. The plant is expected to start up in 2012.

This will be NORAM’s fourth MNB plant in China. The contract marks another repeat customer for NORAM and follows more than two decades of successfully supplying similar facilities to customers in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia.
