Flotation Technology for P&P
September 30, 2013
NORAM has entered into a licensing agreement with FPInnovations of Canada for a novel flotation method which allows for fibre recovery from streams in Pulp & paper mills.
The technology – marketed as FPFloat™ – uses a dispersed air flotation column and process which can be used for various applications such as de-inking, water cleaning, selective removal of contaminants and fibre recovery from waste streams. Industries such as pulp and paper mills, board mills, and mills producing panel all represent potential applications for the technology.
The flotation technology could be adapted to other industries, including mineral processing, for which the technology was originally designed, or any application that aims to selectively separate hydrophobic materials from a suspension.
