First Ming Zhuang Memorial Run
November 20, 2011
Colleagues and associates of Dr Ming Zhuang gathered on a frosty morning, with temperatures dipping towards freezing, to re-trace one of Ming’s favourite running routes. Dr Ming Zhuang, one of NORAM’s most dedicated and experienced chemists, was tragically killed in a road accident earlier this year.
The Fall Classic road run, held annually on the University of British Columbia campus, was the venue for a dozen runners to suit up against the wintry temperatures. Wearing commemorative streamers, the runners embraced the 21 km route, with some electing to run the 10 km option.
The Ming Zhuang Memorial Cup was awarded for the first time, inaugurating what is set to become an annual tradition at NORAM.
