BC Research Appoints New President

Dr. Hassan Hamza has taken the position of President at BC Research Inc., as the research facility, with a strong tradition of technology commercialization, prepares for a new phase of growth.

Dr. Hamza brings with him some 35 years of R&D experience at the government-industry nexus, most recently in the role of Director General at Natural Resources Canada’s CanmetENERGY Research Centre. Dr. Hamza is considered an international authority on solid/liquid separation, and is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Alberta.

The BC Research Technology Commercialization and Innovation Centre is experiencing a strong pull from industries in the process sector, which have become more reliant on depth of knowledge and specialized skills. At the same time, strains on Canada’s water and energy resources are driving more extensive collaboration between industry, academia and government. Dr. Hamza has embraced the challenge of leading BC Research, a wholly-owned subsidiary within the NORAM group of companies, to meet a more demanding future.
