A New Name in Electrolysis

We are pleased to announce that the Electrochemical Division of NORAM Engineering & Constructors Ltd has recently been incorporated as a stand-alone company, and will be known as NORAM Electrolysis Systems Inc., or NESI.

NESI remains a wholly-owned subsidiary within the NORAM Group of companies, and will henceforth transact all business falling within NORAM’s electrochemical portfolio. NESI is geared towards accelerating the commercialization of our electrochemical technology portfolio, with a special focus on salt splitting electrolysis for the burgeoning Lithium Ion Battery (LIB) industry. NESI’s technology portfolio includes the NORSCAND® cell, a proven commercial-scale electrolyser system for conversion of lithium brines into battery grade lithium hydroxide.

NORAM’s Electrochemical team members have all transferred to NESI, with operations spread across our NORAM Vancouver offices, and our large electrochemical pilot plant at BC Research Inc. in Richmond, BC, Canada. As a separate entity NESI will continue to have access to the NORAM Group’s strategic partnerships, supply chain, and deep engineering, custom fabrication, and project execution capabilities.
